Jumeirah Lakes Towers Free Zone

Situated in the heart of New Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road and between two metro stations, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, or JLT, is the ideal address to live, work and play.

JLT’s dynamic lakefront community spread over 200 hectares encompasses 64 attractive residential and commercial towers alongside hotels, leisure and 160 retail outlets with over 50,000 people living and working here. There are four winding, man-made lakes, where community members can enjoy an array of outdoor cafes, restaurants, and children’s play areas.

The centerpiece of JLT is the iconic Almas Tower, the tallest commercial tower in the Middle East.

Almas Tower is home to the DMCC, the free zone authority of JLT. At Almas, you can find the DMCC’s Client Service Centre, a comprehensive facility combining government and customer services that makes setting up a business at the JLT free zone easier than ever, as well as the Almas Tower Conference Centre; the ideal venue for business and social events.

Today, DMCC has registered over 5,500 companies, with 85% of new registrations coming from businesses that are new to Dubai, including multi-nationals, major regional industry participants as well as small/medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs.

JLT Community

With a growing population of currently over 25,000 residents and 10,000 people working in the free zone, the JLT community is extremely vibrant and diverse. From single entrepreneurs who have set up businesses at the free zone, to families enjoying a pleasurable lifestyle, Jumeirah Lakes Towers is the ideal choice to live, work and play.

Our residents come from varied backgrounds, cultures and nationalities and have chosen the community for a range of different reasons, and we cater to their requirements the best we can.

For families, there are currently four covered children’s play areas allowing children to make use of them during the hotter months and security are always on patrol across the development to ensure an appropriate level of oversight.

All the residential towers have recreational facilities such as swimming pools, gyms and wet rooms, and for those who prefer outdoors exercise, there’s plenty of space to jog or cycle around the lakes.

Jumeirah Lakes Towers is more than a development or a free zone; it is also a thriving community. We love seeing our community get together and get to know one another, and we have a variety of activities planned for the entire community:

Community fairs on the lake front promoting local talent;

◾Open air farmers markets;
◾Charity fairs and
◾Dubai Shopping Festival activities along JLT’s waterfront.

For more information, visit our events page or our notice board.

As we’re situated just 45 minutes from Abu Dhabi, JLT is also ideal for those who commute to the capital. With two metro stations servicing the community (Jumeirah Lakes Towers station and Dubai Marina Station) it’s never been easier to travel to the City Centre or Airport without worrying about traffic or parking.

For those looking for easy access to Dubai hotspots, the beach and marina are also only a five-minute drive away from JLT, although many of our residents prefer to walk during the cooler months, crossing over Sheikh Zayed Road via the metro bridges. Ibn Battuta Mall is also a five-minute drive away, Marina Mall is at a similar distance and Mall of the Emirates is only 10 minutes away; both accessible by metro.

Of course, you don’t have to go all the way to a mall to do your grocery shopping. We currently have several Carrefour Express outlets and a Spinney’s Market in JLT. We also have a range of independent grocery stores that offer home delivery services. In fact, JLT has over one million square feet of retail, located at the upper concourse and lower lakeside promenade level which is fast filling up.

At present you can find the following in JLT:

  • Hotels and serviced residences
  • Restaurants with various cuisines
  • Cafes and coffee shops
  • Designated shisha locations.
  • Spas, health and beauty parlors for men, women and children
  • Grocery stores, mini marts
  • Gyms and health clubs
  • Nurseries and play areas
  • Laundries and other home services
  • Home decor and furniture stores
  • Medical clinics, dentists and pharmacies
  • Office supply and services
  • Real estate agents

You don’t have to live or work in JLT to enjoy its unique community lifestyle, and more and more business and leisure visitors are choosing to stay at JLT hotels when visiting Dubai. For five star luxuries, there’s the Bonnington Hotel, a boutique hotel who’s McGettigan’s Irish Pub is the talk of the town. For those on a budget, Oaks Liwa Heights offers a three star experience to its long and short term guests, and in 2013, the Movenpick Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Pullman Jumeirah Lakes Towers will open their doors to the community.
